Netflix premieres in Mexico Camelia la Texana developed by Campanario and produced by Argos Televisión

Netflix will exclusively premiere on August 21st in Mexico the hit television series Camelia la Texana, starring lead actress Sara Maldonado (Camelia Pineda) and Erik Hayser (Emilio Varela) and inspired by the popular corrido Contrabando y Traición by Los Tigres del Norte. Set in the 70’s, the production was developed by Campanario Entertainment and produced by Argos Televisión.“Camelia la Texana is a revolutionary character. For Campanario, it was important to find a partner that was equally as revolutionary to launch this iconic story of Mexican folklore. We are proud to have a partnership with Netflix to stream this outstanding television series throughout the country”, said Jaime Dávila Jr., president of Campanario. “It’s a pleasure to be bring our subscribers in Mexico a hit TV series that has had such a great success in the US, and that the Mexican public has been waiting to watch. For us, it’s very important to continue to offer exclusive, innovative content that appeals to the interest of each country where we are present”, said Jessica Rodríguez, VP of Content at Netflix. The 60-episode television series was created by Diego Ramón Bravo and written by Rodrigo Ordoñez, Hilario Peña and Marcelo Tobar. The director is Carlos Bolado and the producer is Tita Lombardo.
