In the context of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of E!, Klaudia Bermúdez-Key, Senior VP and General Manager of NBCUniversal International Networks Latin America, announced that for the first time, Universal Channel will launch a fiction series in Spanish: the Argentinean series El Marginal from Underground, to be aired starting January 2018. The idea is to test how productions made in Latin America work out.
They will additionally launch well-known series like Lucifer and McGyver.
On the other signals, they will continue airing successful films like the case of Universal Studio, the best science fiction products on Syfy and telenovelas, super series and big awards on Telemundo Internacional, a channel that already has important penetration in the South Cone.
Bermúdez-Key also spoke about the programming related to the 20th anniversary of E! and the channel’s original productions. He commented that along with two seasons of the production Cambiame el look! in Mexico, they will launch Quiero Lucir Famosa, Kiss Bang Love and a Latin American renewed version of the classic format Wild On.
E! has a strong presence on social networks and has become a reference of everything that happens in Hollywood and in the entertainment industry. They currently have more than 5 million followers on the different social platforms and are producing exclusive content that isn’t available on the linear screen.
