Movie Mex now has 180 titles completely re-mastered in HD, spanning the history of Mexican cinema from the 50’s to the 80’s.The catalog includes, in addition to the golden age of Mexican cinema, melodramas, sexy comedies, wrestlers, action, drugs, among others, artists like María Félix, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Tintán, Pedro Armendáriz, Silvia Pinal, Mauricio Garcés, Andrés García, Angélica María, Resortes (Adalberto Martínez), Clavillazos (Antonio Espino and Mora), and Joaquín Pardavé, among many others. This is possible thanks to the work Movie Mex International has done in the past 25 years.Movie Mex president, Álex Agrasánchez, told PRODU that four generations of filmmakers in his family have worked to preserve, and spread out that collective memory that made history. “My grandfather, my father, my brothers, and now my kids have been involved. This kind of film is usually commercial and very appealing to our audience,” he added.Agrasánchez reminds us that at its peak, Mexican films would play at over 600 theaters in the U.S. “And in countries like Colombia, it even exceeded revenues from Hollywood films. These were favorite movies in far away countries like Turkey and Lebanon.
