Reinforcing its commitment to provide Mexicans living in the U.S. with quality programming from all regions of Mexico, the Mexicanal Network has added Radio y Televisión de Veracruz as a new affiliate to its growing roster. Mexicanal viewers will now have access to content from Veracruz, which represents the heritage of 6% of the burgeoning Mexican population now calling the United States home. Thanks to the agreement that Mexicanal has signed with Radio y Televisión de Veracruz, Veracruz programming will begin airing this month, with the launch of Cóctel 212, a magazine show featuring a mix of music and entertainment, as well as the latest trends in fashion and lifestyle. The lineup will also include DX Deportes Extremos, which covers extreme sport events throughout Mexico, such as motocross and off-road competitions. Veracruz joins the expanding mosaic of Mexican regions from which Mexicanal offers programming, including Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Guerrero, Oaxaca, State of Mexico, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Sonora, Hidalgo, Campeche, Chiapas, Yucatan and Zacatecas. From day one, our goal has been to entertain and inform the growing number of Mexicans living in the US with content from their hometowns, which include a multitude of regions, not merely Mexico City. Our relationships with local affiliates are key to the fulfillment of our mission, said Mexicanal COO and general manager, María Urquiaga.
