Tábata Vilar, general director of Canacine, stated that the macro protocol for the start of shootings is already in the hands of the Instituto Mexicano de Seguridad Social and they have already prepared six technical guides made by the guilds, which are in revision to unify details, which will soon be made known on the page about the topic.
“We have the guide for direction personnel, for locations, for sound, costume, for equipment rental, and for talents. They are very specific guides that each department is going to implement, along with the measures that must be taken in all shootings. Once we have the answer to the consultation with the IMSS, we will have a working table for the protocol to be endorsed and included in their training for workers,” said Vilar.
The date for resuming shootings in Mexico City is not clear, since the statement from the city´s Comisión de Filmaciones that started August 10 for the beginning of the awards´ ceremonies, leaves a gray area to interpretation. “For example, we still must inquire about what will happen with private spaces such as studios or forums. For example, are SMEs going to be allowed to start production? Production companies are SMEs and it would be a discrimination not to allow them to start. On the other hand, Televisa is shooting because it is on private property. However, we know that at least one production was ordered by the authorities to stop,” she said.
Vilar commented that productions for advertising could begin in case they are providers for essential industries.
