Two of CNN en Español’s most recognized and followed shows will now be led by two talented journalists starting Monday, September 17th.
María Alejandra Requena, who has been a member of the team of Café CNN, since 2015, the network’s morning show, will lead the Panorama Mundial newscast on weekdays at 4pm (EST).
Jennifer Montoya, a Colombian journalist, joins CNN en Español as part of the Café CNN(6am EST) team, alongside Alejandra Oraa, Elizabeth Pérez, Samuel Burke and Marisa Azaret.
With this change, Requena takes charge of one of CNN en Español’s most iconic news shows. During her tenure at Café CNN, Requena covered some of the most significant world events of recent years, including the Colombian peace process, the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and the protests and crises that have taken place in Venezuela and Nicaragua, among many others.
“My tenure at CNN en Español has been very fulfilling, and having the opportunity to host Panorama Mundial is the most recent example of that. I am deeply grateful to our viewers for their support, and to this organization for what I have achieved along with my colleagues and all the quality professionals that make up this network. I take on this new challenge with the commitment to give it my all,” said Requena.
Meanwhile, Montoya begins her CNN en Español career with vast media experience in her native Colombia and the U.S. Hispanic market. Until recently, she anchored the news show Primera Ediciónand Buenos Días Familia news segments, on Estrella TV, in Los Angeles.

I look forward to reaching those viewers every morning,” said Montoya.
Starting Monday, September 17, Jennifer Montoya joins the Café CNN team (6am EST), and María Alejandra Requena takes charge of the Panorama Mundial news show (4pm EST).
