Marco Girón of Miami Dade County: We presented the first cash rebate program for series and movies in the US

In Natpe, Marco Girón, film commissioner of Miami Dade County, presented with great pride the first program in the entire US of a cash rebate of 20% -High Impact Film Fund Program- of what the production spends in the county “with a minimum of US$5 million spent on Miami Dade County,” he added.

He pointed out that for more information, visit the website. “Production has to meet certain percentage criteria of staff hired here,” and applies to both series and movies. “It is a 5-year incentive, and we have US$50 million.”

Girón underlined that big studios are already interested. “We know that when an incentive is in place, it attracts production. Next year, we may raise the budget after seeing the results in the economy, jobs, and tourism for Miami Dade County.”
