Premium streaming service PantaYA continues to expand its breadth of content by launching a series of comedy specials, Laugh Factory en Español. Since opening its doors in 1979, Laugh Factory has entertained millions of people, many of them Spanish-speaking, and now will produce the Spanish-language stand-up comedy, premiering exclusively on PantaYA beginning April 21.
Laugh Factory en Español, produced by Campanario Entertainment in collaboration with Laugh Factory founder Jamie Masada, will feature 22 comedians and consist of one-hour episodes that will debut two new episodes per month over a period of three months.
“We’re excited to expand our PantaYA content offering by partnering with Campanario and Laugh Factory in bringing Laugh Factory en Español to our audiences first-hand. The Laugh Factory occupies an iconic place in comedy history and with Spanish-language stand-up growing, we look forward to being able to highlight these fresh and original comedic voices later this month,” said Mario Almeida, PantaYA VP of Content Acquisitions, Programming, and Development.
Originating from Hollywood’s World-Famous Laugh Factory nightclub, which has helped launch the careers of many comedy superstars, Laugh Factory en Español will be hosted by Mexican YouTube sensation Werevertumorro, who has over 50 million social media followers, and will feature many of Latin America’s most renowned comedians, including Slobotsky, Ibrahim Salem, Bobby Comedia, Cisco, Marcela Lecuona and Fran Hevia. Other comedians featured include Jurgan Jacobo, Jesús Guzmán, Claudio Herrera, Paty Bacelys, Mau Jalife, Coco Celis, Mónica Escobedo, Hugo Blanquet, Macario Brujo, Ana Julia Yeyé, Ray Contreras, Kikis, Ese Wey, Ricardo Pérez, Roberto Flores and Gloria Rodriguez.
“These specials further drive Campanario’s mission of highlighting diverse talent both in front of and behind the camera,” said Jaime Dávila, president of Campanario Entertainment.
PantaYA will increase its already broad variety of content with additional comedy specials, original series, concerts, and documentaries later this year.
