Latin Media Corp., the renowned Latin American and Asian boutique distributor led by José Escalante, announced the creation of its Fiction Formats unit, which began operation on August 1 under the leadership of Alexander Martín.
Throughout 12 years, the company has had great success and positioned its catalog of stories from all around the world on open television, pay TV, and digital platforms. This success, plus the constant regional demand, led Latin Media to take this new step forward.
“This is not the first time we ventured into this type of market. We have close agreements with clients from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Turkey, Spain, the US, and the Middle East for our formats, always fiction. We created this unit to use our know-how in selecting stories from countries as far away as Asia and Europe, partnering with writers to develop IPs, and nurturing the strong demand of production companies for plots of remakes and originals that engage their audience,” commented Escalante.
José Escalante has been more than 35 years in the content industry with series from Peru, Turkey, India, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Greece, etc.
