Joshua Mintz, EVP, Scripted Programming & general manager, Telemundo Studios
Joshua Mintz, executive vice-president, Scripted Programming & general manager at Telemundo Studios, made a balance of his administration when he is entering his fifth year at the forefront of the fiction factory: The 5 most successful soaps and the creation of super series that have done very well in the 10pm schedule.Mintz, of Mexican origin, gave PRODU an interview in Telemundo’s headquarters in Mexico City, located in the downtown Paseo de la Reforma. He highlighted the growth this bureau had experienced in the last 4 years offering support to Telemundo operations in Miami. “The productions we are doing in Mexico, as well as having grown in volume, have also been very successful. Currently, we are shooting the third season of El Señor de los Cielos, that is currently exhibited on 4 screens in Mexico. This super series I think will allow for more seasons; it has become a unique product in Hispanic US. We also started here preproduction of the second season of Señora Acero” he said.”In Miami we are full: two weeks ago we began producing Bajo el mismo Cielo” and we are still shooting Tierra de Reyes. Our factory is full with a very clear brand: we are original content producers. We have enough stories that we can begin to make our own adaptations” he expressed. He also pointed out that this year he would go to NAB with the NBC team to see the new 4K cameras.
