IMG Media: Purchase by William Morris Agency and Silver Lake Partners, very positive

The recent purchase of IMG Worldwide by Silver Lake Partners and William Morris Agency, announced this past December and approved by U.S. anti-trust regulators, will bring positive results to the company.“There won’t be significant changes in the companies and their structures because they complement each other well. We at IMG have vast experience in the management of talent and sports rights, and William Morris is more focused on representing celebrities and entertainment,” told PRODU Félix Álvarez-Garmon, SVP for the Americas and the Caribbean of IMG Media.He considers that because of this transaction, IMG will be able to focus more and grow in the area of sports and sports talent thanks to higher financial leverage and maneuverability.The executive announced the company just acquired the rights to the BAFTA Awards, the British equivalent of the Academy Awards.
