Guillermo Sierra, who had been a consultant of the Hispanic channel HITN in the US, recently joined the signal in the new position, head of TV and Digital Services.
“This new function complements my career very well, since I come from working at companies with quality content like Discovery, Vme Media and BBC. In HITN all the contents are high quality, deep, educational. For me, HITN is a precious process. It is a non-profit organization, whose objective is to improve the lives of Hispanics in the US,” commented Sierra.
Sierra is responsible for the content, operation, distribution and activities for generating income for the signal. Additionally, he is in charge of the digital strategy, including VOD, SVOD and OTT. “We are strengthening everything that has been done to launch a digital platform that is the next great step,” he added.
One of the first actions has been the production of programming blocks, among which Vida y Salud TV is the first to be launched.
“Vida y Salud TV will be aired from 11am East/2pm Pacific. It will include vignettes combined with acquired content like Centros Médicos (from TVE, 350×60’), Canitas al Aire (Claro Colombia), Al Natural, among others. Early in the day they will air Vida y Salud Fitness, followed by two half hour spaces: En Forma and My Yoga Works with Patti Quintero,” said Sierra.
He explained that they are building other blocks that will soon be announced and that there are plans to make more original content in the Imagina US facilities in Miami, NY, and Los Angeles, and that HITN will activate another studio in Washington.
