Hemisphere Media Group: We see big opportunities in U.S. Hispanic cable

Nick Valls, EVP of Advertising Sales of Hemisphere Media Group

For Nick Valls, who served a 23-year career as Univision executive, his new job as EVP of Advertising Sales of Hemisphere Media Group is an interesting challenge.“I’m optimistic. It’s a smaller company, but I’m surrounded by a very experienced executive team. I believe there are big opportunities in the U.S., and particularly see a future in cable. We expect a transition in the general market, where many clients will migrate out of broadcast TV seeking the more personal and regional options offered by cable,” Valls told PRODU.He said he already started visiting the most important clients and agencies in cities like Miami, New York and Los Angeles, to develop advertising sales for the Hemisphere portfolio of channels (WAPA TV, WAPA América, Cinelatino and WAPA 2), as well as the digital option (wapatv.com).“I hope I can use my past experience not just to develop a menu of marketing options, but also to work hand in hand with our clients, define their needs and develop specific formats for them,” added Valls.
