Globo held the first world screening of the Globoplay Original series’ The Game (working title, 10×60´) at London Content.
“It is the first time we premier content that has not yet been released in Brazil. It is a series created by José Junior of AfroReggae Audiovisual, a strong content based on a true story that shows the beginning of the drug trafficking in Rio de Janeiro in the 70s,” said Pablo Ghiglione, head of International Coproduction at Globo.
Heitor Dhalia is the director of The Game, and the cast includes Rômulo Braga (Rota 66: La Policía que Mata), Jonathan Azevedo (Querer Sin Límites), Babu Santana (Amor Perfecto), Ravel Andrade (Aruanas), Pedro Wagner, and Bukassa Kabengele, among others.
It will be presented in Brazil and have a special activation at the Globoplay booth during the CCXP pop culture event that will take place in São Paulo in December.
Globo is also releasing The Others in London. “It is a series presented at Mipcom. It is realistic and universal. It is about a conflict between neighbors that escalates to chaotic levels. Globoplay is producing a lot and with exceptional quality, so at the same time, we are bringing volume and quality to the market.”
In the last two months, Globo released two of its co-productions: in October, it launched Codex 632 in Portugal and Brazil, produced with RTP and SPi; and a week ago, Rio Connection arrived at Globoplay, one of the two co-productions with Sony Pictures Television and Floresta (Sony’s production company in Brazil), distributed by Sony worldwide.
