For more than four decades TV Globo made excellent TV productions and for many years it has exported its telenovelas worldwide; however, its products have begun to circulate strongly around Latin America, earning the audiences’ preference. “After the success of the telenovela Avenida Brasil the business in the region has grown. This production that was sold to more than 130 countries, has been our content ambassador”, said Raphael Corrêa Netto, Executive International Business Director at Globo. In TV Globo’s facilities in São Paulo, Corrêa Netto commented: “Latin America is a strategic market for Globo International and we can compete with truly important markets such as the Colombian and Mexican. Our growth in the Americas has been balanced, which leads us to think that the future will keep growing and having new businesses, since the region continues to be an excellent market for Globo products”.The executive mentioned that Globo International made six international co-productions and expects to increase the audiovisual co-productions in the region. Another idea the company has is to strengthen their presence in the US Hispanic network MundoMax (previously MundoFOX) and to progress to new platforms that allow the expansion of Globo’s productions in more countries and regions.
