Samuel Duque, president of FOXTelecolombia and Estudios TeleMéxico, stated that the three productions they are making with Sony Pictures Television (SPT) are each for a different screen: pay TV, open TV, and streaming.
“We found three very interesting products and ideas that fit perfectly with the content and co-production strategy Sony was having in its moment. Well, today we have three products we hope we will be able to announce soon: one is with an open TV station, the other with a cable TV operator and the other with a digital platform” he reported.
This is part of the strategy they assumed a few years ago when they ceased to call themselves a production company, and became a television studio, in the aim to understand the business with the entire ecosystem of investors and to develop projects that are closer to all the parts: distributors, exhibitors, governments, agencies, and advertisers. He mentioned that they are going to Mipcom with this in mind and with products in different genres: documentaries, realities or docu-realities, tele series, and premium series.
He also expressed that they hope to finish this gearing stage between companies after the transition FOX Network Group is undergoing upon being acquired by Disney. “Fernando Barbosa leads a very solid group of productions, co-productions, and we are starting to see how the pieces align to actively enter this stage and contribute to the partnership and the joint venture all this experience FOXTelecolombia has in its 21 years of work in Colombia and six in Mexico”.
