Fernando Barbosa from Disney: We are cooking four original projects

Fernando Barbosa, SVP of Distribution and Production at Disney Latin America, announced at the company´s screenings, in the studios in Burbank, Los Angeles, that they are currently cooking four important original projects. “We will reveal them in summer and in fall. They are very well chosen, very exquisite.”

The executive expressed that local productions are what they most like to do. “And we are very happy with the production of El César, which will be launched between August and September. In the US, it will debut on Telemundo. On Azteca in Mexico and in LatAm, on Space.”

He also said they are in preproduction of El Secreto de Selena, a 13-hour series, based on the book by María Celeste Arrarás. “There, we will be together with Telemundo, Azteca and Turner”.

“In ABC this year we have 25 total products and from the new productions, there are eight dramas and four comedies, including three Marvel products, and another that is still not defined. A big bet is The Crossing,” he reported, regarding the company’s global productions.

Barbosa also mentioned that soon they will bring something big to cinemas. “It is amazing. Our main film brands are Pixar, Marvel, Walt Disney Pictures and Star Wars. Moreover, I think for the next two years we are going to continue being number 1 in box office thanks to what we are bringing.”
