For Gerardo Zurita, executive producer at Estudios TeleMéxico, FOXTelecolombia´s company in Mexico, co-productions are increasingly more present in the making of TV programs. An example is what the company is doing jointly with Telemundo, the dramatic musical series Guerra de Ídolos, that will have its debut on Monday, April 24 at 8pm.
“Guerra de Ídolos has been a great challenge for us, very complex to make, but it is a well-plotted series, that combines music, love, mystery and shootings. We are very happy with the results and the audience is going to enjoy it,” he assured.
The executive producer highlighted the experience of working with Telemundo on this project shot in Mexico, in which they have found great synergy between the two teams: “Throughout my career, I have understood that fusions are the future of TV. At Estudios TeleMéxico and Telemundo we have been flexible to adapt to each other and I hope this is the beginning of a long path together”.
Guerra de Ídolos is the first dramatic musical series on Hispanic TV in the US, and, together with the Mexican regional genre, it will include others, such as the urban and rancheras. The story is an original by Marino Calasso, directed by Max Zunino and Liliana Bocanegra. The executive producer is Martha Godoy on behalf of Telemundo.
