Tu-Night with Angélica Vale and Ignacio “Nacho” Lozano and El Lavadero with Sergio Bruna, are two of the shows that will debut soon on Estrella TV in the US and which were announced in May at the channel’s Upfront.

Lozano has been the host of the show De Pisa y Corre of the Grupo Imagen in Mexico. “In De Pisa y Corre Nacho talks about Mexican politics with a touch of humor and we intend that in Tu-Night he does something similar with the Hispanic community in the US, addressing the perspective of laws in this country. It will be a fun way to watch the news and stay informed, while Angélica plays the role of the audience asking Nacho to explain the laws and political events and how it affects the common audience, in a fun way,” explained Ana Laura Suárez, director of Programming at Estrella Media. Tu-Night will debut on September 11 at 9pm.

“These two shows make up a two-hour block in primetime -from 8 to 10pm- of live programming. We’re leaning heavily on live programming, focused on live talent and entertainment, it’s non-stop, and the unpredictable nature of live TV. It is what makes TV exciting,” added Ivan Stoilkovich, EVP of TV Content at Estrella Media.

Suárez commented that Tu-Night with Angélica and Nacho is a talk show that will take place in two sets: one in Mexico with Nacho and another in Los Angeles with Angélica, where they will interact live. “It’s going to be the first talk show to be produced in Mexico and Los Angeles at the same time.”

“It’s amazing what our business can do nowadays. We’re basically bridging these two studios with live feeds going both ways from Mexico to Los Angeles and back. And this opens the door for conversation and talent in both the US and Mexico and gives us a broader perspective, with diversity and topics that really cover both countries. It’s going to be a very exciting show to watch,” said Stoilkovich.

El Lavadero, which kicks off on September 5 at 8pm, is presented by Sergio Bruna along with Juan Santos and a female presenter who has not yet been selected. “This show is going to be irreverent, unique, and fun. We want the show to comply with the three Fs -family, faith, and fun-: targeting families, funny, and with faith, because we are going to highlight the heroes of the community,” explained Suárez.
