Estrella Media has launched Estrella News, a 24-hour multiplatform news network, making it the first Spanish-language media company in the U.S. to provide news content in live digital and streaming format 24/7.
In an effort to expand its news content beyond its established television and radio broadcasting capacity, Estrella Media recently launched its multiplatform news channel, which will be available on all major OTT platforms and online environments, as well as the company’s digital .2 subchannels, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Estrella News debuted this week on FOX Entertainment’s free streaming service Tubi and will appear soon on the Roku Channel and Samsung’s TV Plus, as well as other digital networks as Estrella Media widens its distribution reach.
With over 33 million Monthly Active Users (MAU) and Total View Time (TVT) surpassing 200 million hours of content streamed every month since June, Tubi has more than 23,000 movies and television shows from over 250 content partners, including nearly every major Hollywood studio. The service gives fans of films and television programs an easy way to discover new content that is available completely free. Tubi recently launched “News on Tubi” in the U.S. – a comprehensive way for viewers to access live, premium streaming news content – completely free, including Estrella News.
“During such an unprecedented time, we were inspired to launch the first-ever Spanish-language 24/7 news portal in the U.S. and to partner with Tubi; this undoubtedly marks a new chapter in the history of Spanish-language news media,” stated Peter Markham, CEO, Estrella Media.
This new digital network grid will consist of local, national, entertainment, and sports news segments, all produced in-house by some of the best journalists and media professionals in the industry.
