ESPN launched its flagship ESPN App across Spanish-speaking Latin America, offering a more personalized experience on smartphones and tablets.

“Making ESPN’s flagship app available in Latin America represents another great step in our development of a truly global digital platform that puts ESPN on the home screen of every fan,” said John Kosner, executive VP of ESPN Digital and Print Media. “The app will allow us to better serve the fast-growing audience of fans in the region, where most consume ESPN content on mobile devices. Fans will enjoy a personalized, intuitive experience that is familiar across all devices.”

The ESPN App, available on Android and iOS, is now serving fans with dedicated local editions in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.

With the same capabilities and functionality as its US edition, the ESPN App showcases ESPN’s expansive content on one screen, delivering an elegant, lively and more personal sports experience. Each edition of the app features personalization, alerts, videos and highlights, audio, and customized local news for fans in each market.

The ESPN App’s Spanish-speaking Latin American content is created and managed by ESPN editorial teams across Latin America and around the world, including Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Miami, Los Angeles and Bristol, as well as journalists dedicated to industry-leading coverage of global football, boxing, baseball, basketball, tennis and more.

The launch of these apps represent the latest step in ESPN’s development of a global digital platform that powers local editions of signature ESPN digital properties – including the ESPN website and app – in multiple languages around the world.
