Univision’s premiere of its epic, action-packed original series El Dragón struck fast with viewers, reaching 2.5 Total Viewers 2+, who tuned in to all or part of the one-hour telecast.
Featuring the return of international superstar Sebastián Rulli and co-star Renata Notni, El Dragón averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 638,000 Adults 18-49 and 211,000 Adults 18-34 from 10-11pm ET/PT (9pm Central).
The series positioned Univision ahead of CBS during the premiere and for the entire night, outperforming first-run episodes of Bob Hearts Abishola, All Rise and Bull among Adults 18-34.
El Dragón, an original story written by renowned author Arturo Pérez-Reverte, ranks as the highest-rated 10pm novela/series premiere in 2019 thus far on the Univision Network among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. In fact, El Dragón is the highest-rated novela/series premiere in its timeslot on the network since the October 29, 2018 premiere of Univision’s smash-hit Amar a Muerte in key demos.
El Dragón slayed the Spanish-language competition head-to-head, delivering significantly more Total Viewers 2+ (+69% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+72% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+32% advantage) than Telemundo’s premiere of No Te Puedes Esconder. Additionally, the series attracted more Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than Telemundo’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of Exatlón EE UU, El Final del Paraíso and No Te Puedes Esconder.
