RCN International amidst the pandemic has been making important efforts that represent huge challenges for the benefit of their audience: they changed to HD the format of all their signals (Nuestra Tele, NTN24 and RCN Novelas); the expanded their distribution methods and launched 50 informative capsules on COVID-19 through NTN24, among other achievements.
“Despite the challenging moments, our channels continue to reinvent themselves, improving and thinking about the TV viewer. We continue focused on channels being more relevant and varied for the audience, and part of this is that the audio and video quality is the best possible, that accounts for HD,” highlighted Julián Giraldo, EVP at RCN International.
He explained that to reach all their subscribers´ homes in HD, they expanded their distribution methods, not only available on satellite, but lighter mechanisms such as IP, adapting to the reality of the market, managing to deliver a stable HD signal with broadcast quality.
To make NTN24 even more relevant, they expanded the content aimed at the Mexican community. “We know we are very strong among Colombians, Dominicans, Venezuelans, and Ecuadorians. We are incorporating people like Stephanie Ochoa to the Mexican talent, and creating alliances with Mexican channels,” commented Giraldo.
Additionally, they have introduced improvements in the programming of Nuestra Tele and offer the space Lo Mejor de la Semana for weekends. On Sunday mornings, they are now airing the Holy Mass and the “reception has been huge”.
With RCN Novelas they are trying to air the channel´s greatest hits in Colombia.
