Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic (DLA/USH) announced the appointment of Carolina Angarita as Country Manager for Colombia. Angarita will be based at the company’s offices in Bogota and will report directly to Fernando Medin, president of Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic.
“Carolina has ample knowledge and experience within the television industry, and I have no doubt she will be an effective leader who helps grow Discovery’s business in Colombia. In her new position, Angarita will be responsible for all of Discovery’s business activities and operations in Colombia, including distribution, ad sales, programming, marketing, research, digital, communications, consumer product development and licensing. She will also be in charge of developing new corporate initiatives and commercial opportunities for the different areas of the company’s business in the local market.
Before joining Discovery, Angarita served as general manager of Google Colombia. Before that, she was president of Grupo Zyyei, overseeing 12 innovation companies with a net profit of US$23 million in 2014. She also led Ennovva, Colombia’s #1 digital advertising agency and business incubator, and helped further its international expansion.
