After directing Betty en NY and El Señor de los Cielos 7, Fez Noriega ventures into a new personal project he wrote together with Arath de la Torre. “We have three 13-episode seasons and are negotiating the sales,” said Noriega, who expects the series to start being shot this year.
The story is about an elderly woman, Mrs. Grande, who, upon falling ill and with a terminal prognosis, receives a medical prescription and since she has very few resources, is forced to make the medicine at home. “There are drugs, but it isnt violent. There are certain fun day dreams, but most of it is comedy, because we want to set ourselves apart from the narcoseries pack”.
Noriega is also exploring in the develpment of short formats for the Internet, to join the trend with this type of content, in the comedy genre. “Things told with comedy can be assimilated differently, you can talk aout narco, wars, undocumented, but if you tell it from the funny perspective, people will percieve them differently”.
