“Mexico is a great gateway, not only for the market but for the rest of Latin America. It is vital for us to grow our brand in Mexico and in the region,” said Bakori Davis, CEO and International Head of CuriosityStream.
CuriosityStream had its first linear feed with TotaPlay in Mexico several years ago.
“The great opportunity is to find a partner in Mexico to bring exclusive content to the market. For instance, we have an alliance in Germany with local platforms, one of the largest distributors in that region, and what we do is bring exclusive content to that market. They seek the best partner in their respective genre and bring it to the market exclusively. We would love to find a partner like this in Mexico to execute this type of initiative,” explained Davis.
Davis said, without any details, that several projects are coming to Mexico. “Usually they begin with distribution, with great partners that will help us market new productions.”
“We have reached many alliances in the region that allow us not only to make local content, but in the local language, with local themes, and local voice-over talent. Mexico has all the elements to make our content look and feel local. It is a catalyst for the entire region. For us, everything begins in Mexico and there we have the longest-lasting alliance today,” he concluded.
