The Univision Television Group announced the 2014 dates for Copa Univision. Based on the success across key markets in recent years, 14 local communities will hold the special tournament, kicking off in Phoenix and Atlanta, beginning this Spring. As Copa Univision comes into its 8th year, it continues to deliver on Univisions commitment to entertain and connect Hispanic America to the sports they love. The community response to Copa Univision has been unprecedented with more than 9,000 players and 300,000 attendees expected to participate this year, said Kevin Cuddihy, president, Univision Television Group. Each Copa Univision tournament will feature family-friendly activities such as live music, a kids corner with magicians and bounce houses, an activity center and contests for prizes. Local talent and radio personalities will also be in attendance to interact with tournament-goers. Some markets will also feature a Univision employee tournament with local on-air hosts competing against each other. In 2013, more than 7,000 players and 285,000 community members participated in local Copa Univision events across the country.
