Comcast made an official presentation in Washington of two new channels: Vme Media’s Condista and Primo TV’s Kids Central.

David Cohen, executive senior VP and Chief Diversity Officer at Comcast and Javier García, senior VP and general manager of Multicultural Services at Comcast Cable led the event. Jorge Fiterre from Condista and Víctor Cerda from Vme Media also attended.

“Kids Central and Primo TV will further enrich our current lineup of channels and together they will provide high-quality educational and entertaining content that adds value to Hispanic families and children,” commented García.

For Condista, Kids Central is the first channel that is property of the group in which Fiterre, Javier Prelooker, Burke Berendes and Augusto Valdez are partners. “The project is the opportunity to implement what we have learned throughout our careers and apply that to a single channel, where we control the shares,” commented Fiterre.

Kids Central is aimed exclusively at 4 to 7-year-old children during the day, and at primetime, the screen is open to offer family programming under the Family Central bar.

“The channel is going to have primary audio in English and secondary audio in Spanish and will be present in packages in Comcast’s general market. It must start operations in mid-January 2017,” explained Fiterre.

The children’s programs include Kit & Kate, Walter & Tandoori and Qumi Qumi, while the Family Central bar will have interview programs, documentaries, comedies and series.
