Claudia Chagüi, VP and director of the new network Investigation Discovery, which launched June 9, spoke to PRODU about the programming the channel has to offer. The shows will be based on real life, with dramas including Dementes, Presuntos innocents, Amor asesino y Pecados mortals. “All the programs focus on three main aspects: the desire to resolve a case, the fascination that we have as human beings to understand the criminal mind, and the suspense. Those three elements are what keep us hooked” she expressed. All the programming is focused on suspense, crime and investigation. The idea is to be able to focus on that genre to differentiate ourselves from all the other entertainment channels, giving us a unique position. We believe that with this type of programming, we’ll have a massive audience, and that’s what really interests advertisers” she informed. There will be a creative team focused on sales and clients in order to develop ideas and concepts for different brands. In regards to original productions, Chagüi mentioned considering the possibility of starting their own because there are many cases in Latin America.
