Clara Méndez from Televisa: Innovation in TV is telling stories taking into account the different platforms

During the Innovation Day Content, organized by IAB Mexico, Clara Méndez, Digital Marketing Sales director at Televisa, highlighted that innovation will come in how to tell stories, taking into account the different platforms, like Televisa has done up to now with projects such as Logout and soon in telenovelas such as Antes muerta que Lichita.“We will continue to test ways to continue telling stories taking into account that we have more platforms, not just referring to devices and screens but also to social media and contact points with users. It seems to me that products such as Logout were born with this spirit of experimenting with screens”, she expressed.She mentioned that producers have the task to continue with this innovation: “there is no telenovela which doesn´t bring along its digital concept, beyond VOD, backstage or interviews. Now they have blogs, alternate stories and an active life of their characters on social media.An example of this can be seen in Televisa’s next telenovela Antes muerta que Lichita, produced by Rosy Ocampo, which will have a broadcast strategy, with content that will migrate from the traditional screen to digital, as part of the story.She emphasized that another innovative topic in Televisa is shooting content in 4K, although TV sets still can´t make the most of this technology. However, on normal screens it will be possible to see a bit more detail and image depth”.
