Mercedes Guzmán, VP for Art and Production Services at Cisneros Studios
The Venezuelan Mercedes Guzmán, VP for Art and Production Services at Cisneros Studios, was in charge of designing the set for Telemundo’s Don Francisco Te Invita, in Cisneros Studios in Miami.
In an interview with Richard Izarra, editor-in-Chief at PRODU, the executive showed the studio where there are three main areas created for the program: one for the band, another for the interviews with Don Francisco´s desk, in a late night show style, and the area for presentations.
“At the end of May, beginning of June, we started with the project, y and then the set was made in 4 weeks, which is record time for a 16 thousand square foot studio.” It was built entirely in the company’s workshops.
Additionally, the studio can seat 250 people in the audience and has “18-feet tall screens (almost two floors of a building)”. It is a 360° set, that can change for each presentation.
For Guzmán, who has a 22-year career in the media, this is comparable to the set of any Anglo Saxon show. “We have transformed the studio for Don Francisco te Invita with one of the most technological and innovative sets”.
