Cisneros Media Distribution becomes worldwide representative of Estrella TV’s catalogue of original programming and formats

Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) announced the signing of a multi-year deal with Estrella TV, the largest privately held, minority-owned Spanish-language broadcaster in the United States, for the worldwide distribution rights of the network’s prized content library.Based in Burbank, California, Estrella TV produces over 40 hours of original programming each week and now owns an extensive library of more than 7,500 hours of content and formats: reality, musical-variety, comedy, scripted drama, talk and game shows, and features top talent from the United States, Mexico and the rest of Latin America. “Estrella TV has an outstanding library of content. And the combination of Estrella TV’s quality production with the Cisneros Media’s existing catalogue of original programming, third-party content, scripts, and formats, create a unique and comprehensive offering in the marketplace,” stated Marcello Coltro, EVP, Content Distribution, Cisneros Media.“Our catalogues complement each other, creating a one-stop shop for content. This deal is an important step for Estrella TV as we embark for the first time in the international exportation of our top-rated content. We signed this agreement with great expectations and confidence in Cisneros Media Distribution, a renowned media company that had a significant role in establishing the presence of Spanish-language programming in international markets,” commented Lenard Liberman, CEO of Estrella TV and its parent company Liberman Broadcasting, Inc. (LBI Media).The agreement encompasses 15 programs and formats, which can be adapted to any market. This includes the reality show Rica Famosa Latina, the suspenseful series Historias Delirantes, and the primetime talk-show Noches con Platanito, among others.Cisneros Media Distribution’s creative and sales team will be showcasing Estrella TV’s catalogue with a marketing package titled Diversión at the upcoming international market MIPCOM 2015.
