Expedientes Criminales (12x60’)
Cinelatino is set to premiere its first original investigative docu-series, Expedientes Criminales (12×60’), about the most notorious organized crime cases in Central America. The 12-part series will premiere exclusively in the U.S. on Cinelatino on Friday, September 8, at 11pm ET/8pm PT.
Based on true events, Expedientes Criminales examines Central America’s most infamous criminal cases, detailing the lives of the most sought-after criminal men, women, and families in Honduras, including their rise to power and ultimate downfall. The series combines dramatized re-enactments with real-life accounts and testimonies from brave victims and government officials who risked their lives to bring these criminals to justice.
“Cinelatino is proud to bring a new docu-series format to our viewers’ screens with the premiere of Expedientes Criminales. This series explores the intriguing mysteries surrounding some of the most important and highly publicized criminal cases in Honduras, and we are confident this format will be well-received by our audience,” said Carolina Bilbao, executive creative director of Cinelatino.
The series is produced entirely in Honduras with the contribution of various Honduran government institutions including local police, special military forces, judges, and prosecutors. Cinelatino co-produced the series with Guacamaya productions, a Honduran based company.
Following its premiere, new episodes will air on the network every Friday at 11pm ET/8pm PT.
