These new facilities are an expression of our commitment to the growth of the Hispanic community and a testimony for our employees and our audience in the entire country. The philosophy behind the construction of Telemundo Center was to bring life to our values: innovation, collaboration, and transparency,” expressed César Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and NBCUniversal International Group during the grand opening of Telemundo Center in Doral.
Telemundo Center was made with a US$250 million investment. It has 500 thousand square feet, located on 21 acres, with capacity for 1,500 employees. It has 15 studios, two of which are digital, augmented and virtual reality sets, and cutting-edge news operation.
The attendees to the inauguration included the main Telemundo executives, as well as Steve Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal and David Cohen, senior EVP and Chief Diversity Officer, Comcast Corporation and government authorities, such as Carlos López-Cantera, Lt. Governor of Florida; Juan Carlos Bermúdez, Mayor of Doral, and the Mayor of Miami-Dade, Carlos Giménez.
The facilities gather all the offices, broadcast operations, and the division´s production –including Telemundo Network, Telemundo Global Studios, the Universo channel, Telemundo´s digital media operations, and the Latin American offices of NBCUniversal International Group—under the same roof. Telemundo’s former headquarters was in Hialeah, where it operated for the last 30 years.
