Caracol TV: We support Colombian cinema as investors and long-term promoters

In the city of Cartagena, Colombia, the 55th edition of the International Film Festival is underway. Throughout seven days it will gather the best exponents of the seventh art. Alejandro Bernal, Caracol TV’s manager of New Channels and Film, told PRODU “The topic of cinema is not new to us, we already have a tradition of many years as investors, betting on the box office, the content and new expressions. We are proud of being promoters and accompanying this industry.”Caracol TV is part of this party and will be present with the films Antes del Fuego, El Elefante Desaparecido and El Abrazo de la Serpiente. In documentaries: Gabo, La Magia de lo Real and Carta a una Sombra.Some figures that back the growth of the Colombian film industry, in relation to 2010 are: 38.2% increase of attendants during 2014; number of cinema complexes went from 108 in 2008 to 192 in 2014; and 28 Colombian productions were premiered last year, 11 more than the ones presented in 2013.
