Canela Media appoints Nestor Islava as VP of Sales in Mexico

Nestor Islava became the new VP of Sales of Canela Media in Mexico. He will strategically lead the commercial team and the creation of solid relationships with potential partners, brands and the advertising industry. His role includes expanding and accelerating the understanding and knowledge of the new formats and alternatives that Canela Media offers in its Advertising Video On Demand (AVOD) platforms.

Islava joins Canela with 18 years of commercial experience in media, working for companies such as TV Azteca, Universal Music, FOX International Channels, and Adsmovil. He is an instructor at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB Mexico) and teaches at the Universidad del Valle de México. He is also a speaker at the Universidad Anáhuac and the Universidad Panamericana.

“This is a great moment for the digital industry focused on video streaming. Audiences are demanding more options and content diversity, advertisers are much more open to a free model for the public, which allows them to recover audiences lost from open TV. Our goal is to consolidate relationships that make us a key ally of brands and agencies, as well as a reference for information and education about AVOD,” he said.
