Canal 1 from Colombia continues growing, and they haven’t been operative for a year yet –August 14th they will celebrate their first anniversary-, programming is now being consolidated, according to Jimmy Arteaga, advisor and Programming consultant for Canal 1.
Arteaga comments that this is the result of the huge effort the team is making in Colombia, and of Hemisphere. Arteaga shares this role with his position as President of Programming, Production, and Promotions at Puerto Rico’s WAPA TV and regularly travels to Colombia to supervise the Programming area while the team finishes establishing itself. Ana María Olaya is Canal 1’s Programming Manager.
She highlights that Turkish novelas such as La Señora Fazilet y Sus Hijas (from 1 to 2pm) and Alas rotas (2 a 3pm), Caso Cerrado (5 to 6pm), the format Guerreros (6 to 8pm), the Colombian version of Lo Sé Todo (from WAPA) from 8 to 9pm, the news –one of the channel’s greatest strengths -(9pm Noticiero Central), and the space Pregúntame a Mi (10pm).
“It is almost meteor growth. Today we can clearly say that Canal 1 is the third open TV network in Colombia. We are Working very hard so that when the anniversary comes on August 14 our figures are much more consolidated. Colombia currently has a new TV alternative. It has already been accepted by the audience. TV viewers are finding us and recognizing they like what they are watching,” adds Arteaga.
For July, they are preparing changes in the weekend programming.
