Mónica Molina, executive producer at Boomdog of HBO Latin America’s new entertainment space, pointed out that Chumel stands out for its humor and satire that result from a well thought-out analysis and not from just anywhere. In statements to PRODU in the Boomdog studios in Mexico City, after the first program of Chumel with Chumel Torres was broadcast, she said, “Chumel was outstanding, he is a very great guy, intelligent, his head is buzzing with ideas, and he is very charismatic. The program is very irreverent. We are very happy it isn´t censored, we can speak things out the way they truly are. It is irreverent, sarcastic. It isn´t simply teenage rebelliousness, it is humor that results from a well thought-out analysis and not from just anywhere.”After 9 years in Boomdog, this space is her first program as executive producer. She has a daily team of 20 people, including writers, researchers, fact checkers and producers. “On shooting days, the staff rises to 60 people.”Regarding the challenge it is, she expressed: “The challenge is the content, not just that it´s solid, but also interesting for Latin America, including Brazil and the US.”On HBO she said: “It is the dream client; they are very creative people who understand the TV business very well.”Chumel with Chumel Torres is an HBO Latin America production made by Boomdog in Mexico. It is broadcast on Fridays at 11pm on HBO Latin America and on Mondays on HBO Latino in US Hispanic on the same schedule.
