Bob Behar at HERO Broadcasting: Spanish-language TV will always have place within the hearts of Hispanic

December 15, 2012

Bob Behar, president and CEO at HERO Broadcasting

Bob Behar, president and CEO at HERO Broadcasting, which was recently added as a MundoFox affiliate in Phoenix and will program CNN Latino on its Los Angeles station, told PRODU that the Hispanic market is in a constant evolution, and that Spanish-language TV will always have a place within the Hispanic population in the U.S.“The assimilation doesn’t exist within us. Hispanic TV will always have a place in the Hispanic population that continues to grow, and will soon be the primary minority among Americans” he emphasized. Behar was also explained the benefits of the digital multicast of open TV. “That space gives a chance to minority signals of other languages. In Los Angeles, we run eight multicast signals of different religions that rent the space, and we have a Portuguese channel for those Brazilians who live in the city. The small channels like Mexicanal, who we had for some time, use our platform to show cable providers that they have the potential to receive a great audience. Operators see the results and then distribute them through paid TV”.
