The match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona was the number one event within Twitter

beIN SPORTS’ exclusive coverage of El Clásico, the highly anticipated matchup between Spanish giants, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, on March 22 was the number one event within Twitter generating 40 million impressions, 667 thousand tweets and 5.3 million in audience for all programs (Broadcast and Cable), according to Nielsen ratings. The beIN SPORTS broadcast of the match beat AMC’s The Walking Dead and the NCAA March Madness games on CBS as the number one event on March 22 in audience, impressions and tweets for broadcast and cable programs. El Clásico was also the number one sports event in Twitter volume, with 667 thousand tweets for the week of March 16 through March 22, beating every NCAA March Madness game. Overall, the match accumulated over 10.7MM post reaches on Facebook and over 33MM impressions on Twitter.
