Anna Gordon, EVP and managing director at BBC Worldwide Latin America & U.S. Hispanic
BBC Worldwide announced the launch of the new version of the CBeebies app, BBC’s first multilingual children’s SVOD application for Latin America and the US Hispanic markets.
Available in English and Portuguese in Brazil, in Spanish and Portuguese in the US Hispanic market and in English and Spanish for the other countries.
The app has had over 300,000 downloads to date across different markets in the Latin American and US Hispanic regions.
The CBeebies app features 100+ hours of video content, including original commissions created to support English learning, with more than 25 rotating games.
In addition, the new version of the app features a brand new look and feel and incorporates several parental safety and control elements including a time out feature, which automatically limits screen time in any one sitting. CBeebies app 1.2 also has Apple TV and Apple watch versions, which are currently accessible across Latin America and the US Hispanic market.
“This reinforces our commitment to continue to look for innovative ways to engage young audiences, their parents and caretakers. We have spent time and resources for this app to be not only an entertaining and educational companion to our CBeebies channel and SVOD offer, but also to ensure that children can play in a secure and stimulating digital environment,” said Anna Gordon, executive VP and managing director at BBC Worldwide Latin America & U.S. Hispanic.
