In the context of the panel Marketing Programming and Subscription: What Hispanic Viewers Will Pay to Watch, Angelina Losada, Business Development and Growth Initiatives VP at FOX Deportes, highlighted that soccer, boxing and NFL are the sports that account for the largest audiences for the channel, while Sebastián Trujillo, Content Sales director at BBC Studios highlighted the importance of having franchises such as Doctor Who to attract audiences.
Claudia Lizaldi from INTI TV highlighted that the content that is presented must have the audience´s interest as its main end. “Our contents attract TV viewers because it is our way to show them we care,” she said.
For her part, Marisol Martínez, Multicultural Marketing VP at Charter Communications, highlighted that the audience wants to see their content on all the platforms. She added that value and packages are important. “People want to choose their channels and pay for what they see.”
Trujillo said they must make sure they are providing the content that can support their distributors to keep their subscribers. He highlighted that BBC Studios is working to produce local versions of their formats and that there are many other opportunities in that area.
Martínez added that Charter just launched Spectrum Mobile for Hispanics and they aim to take it nationwide.
