Azteca Novelas: TV continues to be the greatest vehicle for entertainment and advertisement

For Elisa Salinas, Director of Azteca Novelas, although the TV industry is on its way to a great change, broadcast TV still offers the greatest opportunities to reach the audience in Mexico. “New options are appearing both for entertainment as well as for advertisement, but I still feel that TV continues to be the greatest vehicle”, she said to PRODU.Salinas was clear and energetic in defending open broadcast TV: “I challenge anyone to tell me what other platform reaches 10 million people at 9pm for a consecutive hour”.She assured that in Televisa there are still products that have 8, 10 and 12 millones viewers, while in Azteca other products catch the attention of 6, 7 and 8 million viewers.Regarding productions and projects, she said: “We are producing a great deal of Lo que callamos las mujeres, this product is celebrating its 15th anniversary; a telenovela that will be launched on August 3rd (Tanto Amor), and we are about to launch a new episodic series in prime time: Un día cualquiera. For 2016 we are preparing several miniseries that will debut in January”.
