Azteca America finished May as the fastest growing Spanish-language network in prime time among key demos, including Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, with +59% and +80% year-over-year growth, respectively, according to Nielsen. The network also delivered its highest May ratings in four years across all demos. The network experienced significant year-over-year growth across all four hours of prime time among adults 18-49. Escape Perfecto grew +129% and Desafío Marruecos was up +124%, while Al Extremo delivered a +12% increase and Kaçak delivered +173% growth for the time period. Azteca reached 3.9 million Total Viewers and 1.9 million Adults 18-49 in prime time in May. While Azteca’s prime time reach increased by +4% among Total Viewers and +8% among Adults 18-49, the real driver of growth was increased engagement, more specifically in the amount of time viewers tune in to Azteca’s core programming. Total Viewers spent an average of +54% more time with Azteca and Adults 18-49 increased their average minutes by +60% vs. May 2015. Escape Perfecto reached 1.3 million Total Viewers, Desafío Marruecos reached 1.1 million Total Viewers, Al Extremo reached 2.6 million Total Viewers and Kaçak reached 950,000 Total Viewers. Liga MX also contributed to the network’s growth for the month, reaching 3 million Total Viewers and 1.8 million Adults 18-49. Locally, KAZA in Los Angeles was the fastest growing Spanish-language broadcaster in the market, up +61% among Adults 18-49. San Francisco and Chicago also delivered strong growth in the demo, reporting +43% and +36% increases, respectively.
