Azteca America announces a nation-wide casting call for the best singing competition in Latin America, La Academia. Auditions will take place in Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Tucson, Miami, Los Angeles, and Phoenix with a semi-final to be held at Miamis Dolphin Mall and a final casting in Los Angeles on August 3 in Huntington Park featuring a vibrant celebration filled with music and Azteca America personalities. La Academia is the musical phenomenon that has swept Mexico, the United States and Latin America. From its debut on June 30, 2002, La Academia has been a dream factory for participants of its 11 seasons, many of whom have become important figures in music, theater and television. Auditions will take place in Phoenix, Tucson, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles, where you will have the chance to show off your talent. If selected, youll move on to the next round. The semifinal round for this nationwide casting will take place on July 27 at the Dolphin Mall in Miami. The final U.S. casting for the upcoming season of La Academia will take place in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 3 in Huntington Park. The semifinal and final will both allow hopefuls to try out even if they have already done so in another city. The day of the final auditions in Huntington Park will feature big surprises, music, and Azteca America personalities all gathered to celebrate the selection of the fortunate participants who will travel to Mexico City to represent the United States in the last phase of casting.
