Webinar Esports
In the second esports webinar Talks Streaming and Content that AMC Networks International – Latin America held together with PRODU they stated that there isn’t an audience profile for esports, because it is varied, diverse and changes according to games, countries, platforms, and even creators, and there are certain myths that are collapsing: one out of every three viewers is a woman and a good part of the audience is 34 to 44 years old.
Ignacio Estanga, Director of Contents and Partnerships at Twitch Latin America; Elizabeth del Valle, Global Marketing Manager for YouTube Gaming, and Rodolfo Ramírez, Director of Azteca Deportes, were the panelists, chaired by María Florencia Geoghegan, Sales Director of Affiliate Sales and Country Manager, Argentina at AMC Networks International Latin America.
In addition to the audience, content also varies according to each country, said Elizabeth del Valle, “Now, there is a boom in the mobile area, with games like Garena Free Fire, in whose final at the beginning of November I saw more than a million viewers; or games like Pubg Mobile, Monster and Clash Royale. Some people like Fortnite and Call of Duty but it is all going to vary according to the country and the platform. At the same time, there is an interesting relation between what people play and the content that is consumed”.
Estanga commented that this variety complicates things for brands to determine where they should position themselves. “I prefer to understand the problems and look for a solution,” he said after explaining there are no predefined formulas.
