Atresmedia continues to grow. As of July 5, its atresplayer platform has a new design and technology, more channels, and new productions. Likewise, it’s reinforcing both its free and paid models.
The upgrade was announced at an event in Madrid with actors, presenters, creators, artists, producers, and representatives of the Government, where Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia said: “I maintain that Atresmedia is one of the main engines of the Spanish audiovisual industry. […] The new atresplayer represents a great leap. It is an endless project for which we are going to increase our commitment based on having the best content and the best talent.”
Atresplayer’s new interface will allow seamless and more intuitive navigation, improving the user experience with a new design, customized user profiles, and improving access to the 30,000 hours of its catalog.
In addition, atresplayer will premiere almost thirty new projects in the upcoming months. The platform has now announced 10 ‘absolute’ novelties that make up its catalog of Spanish productions.
Among the new originals are: FoQ: La Nueva Generación, Piraña, A Muerte, Un Nuevo Amanecer, Una Vida Menos en Canarias, Mariliendre, La Sombra de la Tierra, La Nena, 33 Días, La Ruta. Parte 2: Ibiza, ¿A Qué Estás Esperando?, Érase una vez en Marbella.
The originals that will premiere in the coming months are: Drag Race Spain: All Stars (Spain will be the first country to make an All Stars version after the US original), Las Noches de Tefía (premieres on June 25), Zorras (July), La Red Púrpura, Camilo Superstar, Vestidas de Azul, Déjate Ver, Red Flags, Santuario, El Gran Salto, Tino Casal, El Enigma Nadiuska.

The platform will also expand its live offer with 10 new FAST channels, free themed linear channel streaming services (atresplayer Classics, atresplayer Multicine, atresplayer Comedy and Restless Minds), and exclusive series and programs. In addition, it will launch five more specific channels for certain programs: Aquí No Hay Quien Viva, El Club de la Comedia, Equipo de Investigación, Física o química, and El Hormiguero. There will also be a Guest Channel, whose content will vary each month; plus the launch of Kidz, a FAST channel with uninterrupted children’s content broadcast. These channels join the linear channels of atresplayer.
In its subscription offer, it added a new package (family premium) that will allow viewing by up to 3 users at a time, regardless of their location.
