José Antonio Salso, International Purchase and Sales manager at Atresmedia Internacional, spoke about Galerías Velvet as one of its most sold series, internationally. This production won the PRODU Award as Series of the Year.
Produced together with Bambú Producciones, its international distribution is being handled with Betafilm. It is now present in 113 countries, through the Atresmedia’s international channels, and on VOD platforms VOD. In Europe, it was possible to watch it in Italy and France.
Salso comments that Galerías Velvet “is one of the seals that is growing all Atremesdia Internacional productions, under the Atresmedia series brand.”
Regarding the future of the series, he said the last season was aired at the end of 2016 and that it still it is still on an international journey. “There will surely be some kind of adaptation in certain territories and the series continues to have international exposure beyond Spain.”
He mentioned that at Mipcom they presented two new series: Tiempos de Guerra and Fariña. “Tiempos de Guerra is being aired in Spain on primetime with great audience success, and we additionally presented a miniseries with touches of science fiction called El Incidente”, that is part of the new line, different from the fiction line they are presenting in the market.
Another series they are now airing is La Casa de Papel, with which they are announcing an agreement with Netflix for it to have the exclusive rights outside of Spain.
