Camila Ibarra, daughter of Epigmenio Ibarra, is leading Algo Súper Ocurrente (ASO), an Argos company dedicated to the production of web series in an alliance with Cultura Colectiva
Algo Súper Ocurrente is the Argos company directed by Camila Ibarra, daughter of Epigmenio Ibarra, who produces web series aimed at millennials. In a partnership with Cultura Colectiva, in 2017 they made three series (10×5´): Hotel Victoria, Descanse en Paz, and Top Ten, the two latter will be released in 2018.
The company staff is made up of very young people (ages 19 to 36). “We want to produce what we want to watch and talk to people about their problems, said Ibarra, after mentioning that “the idea is to show what it implied for us to grow up with a cell phone in our hands and for that to be imprinted on how the series is shot, written, directed.”
Hotel Victoria was aired on Facebook and is a horror webseries that invites to experience fear in the most intimate places. As for Descanse en Paz, is the story of a girl who must manage a funerary parlor. It is a comedy that covers the topic of death, and in contrast, life. Top Ten, on the other hand, is a dark comedy that consists of a critical gaze at beauty pageants.
In January they will make a series that experiments with improvisation to cover millennial diseases. It is a new concept, through which they seek interaction with the audience and it includes different dynamics. It will have its debut in January, the same as another series they made for MTV, called Mediocre, which is the first they have made as a production company.
