Alfonso Cueto from ESPN adds Multimedia Sales in the Multicultural US market to his responsibilities

Alfonso Cueto, VP of Multimedia Sales at ESPN Miami for Latin America, has added to his responsibilities the Multicultural US area, that includes the US Hispanic market with ESPN Deportes.

“I was recently assigned the responsibility of working with the multicultural team, including ESPN Deportes and US Hispanic, reporting to John Fitzgerald, who has done a great job growing the business. We are growing very much in the digital area. In TV we have a good performance, but what we are proudest about is that ratings are increasing very much” expressed Cueto.

He said that for US Hispanic they will have the UEFA Champions League on ESPN Deportes. Additionally, the boxing rights for Golden Boy, Óscar de la Hoya’s company. “The ratings have been very important. We are going to have a Manny Pacquiao fight in the summer, he said. They will also have the ICC including the Clásico. “What’s amazing is that we will have the Clásico three times this summer: Barcelona vs Real Madrid, once with the ICC and two times with the Supercopa. We are calling it the triple Clásico,” highlighted.

Another very important sports discipline for ESPN Deportes is baseball, where they have launched Baseball Experience, interviewing 50 Latin ball players that have been successful. “In July we are going to launch a special magazine in English and Spanish. We are interested in bringing these two worlds together, (English and Spanish)” he said.
